Americans for Democracy & Human Rights in Bahrain (ADHRB), along with the Bahrain Institute for Rights and Democracy (BIRD), the Bahrain Center for Human Rights (BCHR), Human Rights Watch, Article 19, the Gulf Center for Human Rights, Index on Censorship, English PEN, the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH), CIVICUS, the Cairo Institute for Human Rights Studies, the Bahrain Human Rights Society, and the International Service for Human Rights, will be co-sponsoring a side event at the 30th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva.
The panel discussion will focus on efforts made at the HRC to address the ongoing human rights violations in Bahrain, paying particular attention to how external political pressure on the government can drive substantive change.
The event will be held Tuesday, 15 September from 15:00 pm – 16:30 pm in Room XXVII, Palais de Nations, Geneva.
