For Kuwait’s review at the 58th Session of the Committee against Torture, ADHRB published and submitted a shadow report on Kuwait’s compliance with its obligations under the Convention against Torture (CAT). The report, published on the UN website, is written to provide accurate and detailed answers to questions posed to Kuwait by the Committee on issues that the Committee has identified over the last several years. It finds that the use of torture remains not only prevalent in the country, but also that Kuwait continues to rely upon torture as a significant part of its criminal justice system.
