At UN, ADHRB, BIRD & BCHR Question Good Governance Practices in Bahrain

Geneva, Switzerland — 24 September 2015 — On behalf of Americans for Democracy & Human Rights in Bahrain (ADHRB), the Bahrain Institute for Rights and Democracy (BIRD), and the Bahrain Center for Human Rights (BCHR), ADHRB International Advocacy Officer Michael Payne delivered an oral intervention on the lack of good governance practices within Bahrain. Mr. Payne drew attention to state officials accepting bribes from international companies, judges responding to the influence of the king, and royal family members perpetuating the theft of public land for private gain.
